Whether you love the bump stock or hate the bump stock, this should matter to you.
The Trump administration is considering outlawing possession of the bump stock. I can understand outlawing the sale of an item. But, outlawing possession of an item? It seems to me, considering I can read the constitution, that Government cannot outlaw a person’s property unless you give them just compensation.
So, are we going to pay people who own bump stocks just compensation for those items? if so, how much will that cost? Or, are we just going to pass a law outlawing a item of personal property without compensation?
We should not abandon the constitution because we are in a rush to outlaw a product that is completely legal to currently own. The method in which we do things is just as important as The actions we collectively decide to tape.
