During the past election, to supporters in Baltimore, Obama said, “I love it when these guys talk about debt and deficits. I inherited a trillion dollar deficit. It’s like somebody goes to a restaurant, orders a big steak dinner, a martini and all that stuff, then just as you’re sitting down they leave and accuse you of running up the tab.”
Like most things Obama says, a dose of reality is necessary to put things in perspective. First, the Republicans did not leave the table. Obama ran for President and unfortunately won. Since we have a peaceful transition of power, unlike some of our dignified southern neighbors in Latin America, the Republicans peacefully left public office. If Obama did not want to inherit a trillion dollar deficit, he should not have run for President.
Second, more importantly, Obama turned a trillion dollar deficit into a sixteen trillion dollar deficit. It is like once sitting down at the head of the table and noticing that the steak and martini had not been paid for, Obama began ordering cabbage, raw onions, and a round of Kool-Aid for everyone. But, Obama’s policies, much like the crap his wife wants us to eat, put a bad taste in our mouths. They fail to create jobs and we are left feeling unsatisfied.
Ever since the 2010 election, there has been a new cook in the kitchen. As Obama commonly says, the Republicans are “in the house.” As a result, the kitchen has been refusing to cook up the recipes of disaster which Obama continues to order from his menu of failure. Some blame this on Republican intransigence. But, it’s called representative government.
The American people are tired of being fed the crap that Obama and his wife promote. We are hungry for jobs. We are starving for leadership. In three years we must elect a republican to escort Obama out the door, so we can once again enjoy the sweet taste of liberty.
